“My goal is to help every student learn to love the music, a huge reason for connecting with our music community”

Hi, I’m Amy!

Violinist, Life-Long Learner, Gardener,
Mother, Grandmother, and Violin, Viola, and Piano Teacher.

I have over 35 years of teaching experience, and because my teaching philosophy aligns with Shinichi Suzuki’s, I believe whole heartedly that every child can learn to express the beauty within themselves and connect to others through music.

I also have learned to adapt to individual students. As a result, I love to draw on family and individual strengths and find energy in associating with people from many walks of life.

I enjoy performing with orchestras and chamber music groups and serving as the Cache Valley String Festival treasurer.

I’ve kept my friends from childhood including my husband, Todd, who I have been married to since 1988 and am very proud of our seven children and their families. Now we enjoy visiting with our many grandchildren who are a joy.

Suzuki Makes dreams attainable

“My son loves playing violin and it is because of Amy! She has been so patient as he’s learned and he’s gaining great confidence as a performer as he learns to play challenging pieces. It’s been fun for him to be able to excel in orchestra because of his lessons with Amy. She keeps it fun and exciting, moving along at a good pace in the lessons. The recitals are low stress and enjoyable with a focus on positivity and a sense of achievement!”
